Protect your loved ones with these pool safety tips.

Planning on spending some time in the pool this summer?  Then it’s important that you do so safely.  If you want to protect all your loved ones as they play in the pool this summer, then make sure you keep these pool safety tips in mind.

Adult Supervision

Children should never be allowed in or near a pool without adult supervision.  Younger, more inexperienced swimmers should only enter the water when they are equipped with the proper flotation safety gear.  Additionally, these swimmers should be kept within arm’s reach at all times.  Stronger swimmers can be monitored from poolside, just stay vigilant and be ready to dive in if an emergency situation arises.

Protective Barriers

If you have a pool in your own yard, then it’s important that you have a protective barrier to stop children and pets from entering the water unsupervised.  Pool safety experts recommend installing a 4 to 5-foot fence around the entire perimeter of your pool.  Additionally, your barrier should feature a self-closing, self-latching gate to ensure that kids or animals do not sneak inside the safety gate without you noticing.

Drain Safety

When your child is swimming, you should warn them to stay away from drains and suction outlets.  Additionally, you should never allow your child to enter a pool or spa with a loose broken, or missing drain cover.  This is because your child’s limbs, hair, bathing suit, or jewelry can get stuck in a drain opening, keeping them submerged under the water.  If you want to protect your loved ones, make sure you teach them about drain safety before they swim.

These are some of the pool safety tips that you should keep in mind this summer.  Are you planning on undertaking a new commercial construction project in the Bay Area this season?  Then make sure you have the right construction experts on your side.  For assistance with all your commercial construction needs, contact Profoma Construction.  Serving Pleasanton and the surrounding California area, our highly trained and experienced team is ready to make your commercial construction dreams a reality.
