Bring this side dish recipe for sweet potato casserole to make a great impression at your holiday potlucks.

Over the holiday season, you’ll probably attend a gathering or two. When you do, you’ll want to lend a hand to the host and might offer to bring a dish. Then comes the stress of crafting something that will feed a lot of people but still taste great, but there’s a solution! Use this great holiday potluck side dish recipe for sweet potato casserole to help you host and impress your friends.

To make it, you’ll need:

  • 4 cups of cubed sweet potatoes
  • ½ cup of sugar
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 7 tablespoons of softened butter, divided
  • ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • ½ cup of milk
  • 1/3 cup of flour
  • ½ cup of packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup of chopped pecans

Preheat your oven to 324 degrees F.

Put your sweet potatoes in a large saucepan and fill with water until it covers your potatoes. Cook the potatoes over medium high until they’re tender. Drain out the water and mash the potatoes.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed sweet potatoes with the sugar, salt, eggs, 4 tablespoons of butter, vanilla extract, and milk. Stir together until everything is smooth. Pour this mixture into a 9×13” baking dish.

In another mixing bowl, stir the flour with the brown sugar. Cut in the remaining butter until you have a coarse crumb mixture. Add in the pecans and sprinkle over your sweet potatoes.

Bake until the top is golden brown (about 30 minutes). Delicious!
