National Yoga Month

National Yoga Month

by Proforma Construction Inc, September 14, 2016

The community of Yoga continues to grow in the U.S. and September is the month we celebrate this extraordinary practice.

Yoga is a discipline and practice that was introduced to the U.S. and it has taken a strong foothold with millions of people around the country. A study indicates that 8.7 percent of all Americans (or about 20.4 million people) have practiced yoga at least once in their life. This September is National Yoga Month, and here are some reasons why you should try yoga now and until the end of times.

Why Yoga?

  1. Yoga Makes You Feel Better

In an age where work is eternal and we get very little time to ourselves, feeling good and reducing stress is something we all need. This feeling is not just after the class, it carries you throughout the day!

  1. It’s Not Expensive

Unlike many practices that require you to spend hundreds of dollars in equipment, yoga allows you to make your own space. All you need is a good yoga mat, a space to call your own, water, perhaps even a nicely scented candle, and a reputable YouTube channel to follow.

  1. Yoga Is for Everyone

Besides making you feel better, it will build your strength and flexibility. Yoga promotes a balance between the mind, body, and spirit for all who practice regularly. If you combine it with a healthy diet, it can also give you a leaner body.

  1. It Takes Time

You may feel weird for the first few weeks as you uncomfortably contort your body to the desired positions. It’s pretty much a guarantee. Give yourself time, and before you know it, you’ll be able to do a pose you thought impossible when you first started.

Construction can be a rather stressful job: deadlines, loud noises, and strenuous labor can take a toll on the body. When looking for a Pleasanton contractor who can help you make the right decision, we encourage you to contact Proforma Construction. We are equipped to meet all of your commercial construction needs.
