Try out these innovative materials in your next building project.

As technology advances, it spurs innovation in all industries.  This is certainly true for the construction industry.  One of the results of this technological advancement is the continuous development of new building materials.  Curious to learn about the innovative materials you can incorporate into your next commercial construction project?  Here are a few of the new materials set to take the industry by storm.

Shock-Proof Concrete

Recently, researchers have devised a way to create shock-proof concrete.  This concrete contains a substance called magnetite along with other carbon and metal components that give the concrete the ability to soak up microwaves and improve its absorption and reflection abilities.

Cool Brick

Another interesting building material that can help with the cooling of a structure is known as cool brick.  Cool brick is a modular construction system made up of porous ceramic bricks held together by mortar.  The porous nature of the bricks traps water, and, as the moisture travels through the network of pores it is heated and evaporated, it lowers the temperature inside the building.

Aerogel Insulation

Silica aerogel is a lightweight solid that creates the look of “puffed-up sand” and has amazing porosity.  This material is an extremely effective insulator and aerogel insulation incorporates some of this material into fibre batting.  This insulation can be installed just like standard insulation, however it yields better results in the finished building.

These are some of the innovative building materials that could revolutionize your next commercial construction project.  Interested in finding a construction team to handle your next build?  Then turn to the experts at Proforma Construction.  Serving Pleasanton and the surrounding California area, our highly trained and experienced team is ready to make your commercial construction dreams a reality.  Contact us to get started today.
