by Proforma Construction Inc, December 8, 2015

This recipe for cake mix cookie bars is the perfect way to sweeten your season.

The holidays are all about gathering with friends and family. When you do get together, you’ll want to do it over something – usual a meal, a cocktail, or a sweet treat.

The problem there is that with all of the other busyness of the season, creating something delicious to share with your loved ones can feel a little overwhelming. Fortunately, this surprisingly simple holiday dessert recipe for cake mix cookie bars will take you just five minutes to prepare and uses just six ingredients. In short, it’s your secret weapon this holiday season!

To whip up this super fast, super delicious dessert, you’ll need:

  • 1 box of yellow cake mix
  • ¼ cup of water
  • ¾ cup of vegetable oil
  • 1 small box of instant vanilla pudding (use the powder only)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup of chocolate pieces (we like holiday colored mini M&Ms)

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.

In a large mixing bowl, stir the cake mix with the water, oil, pudding powder, eggs, and chocolate pieces. You’ll have a thick batter.

Grease a 10×13” baking dish and pour the batter into it. Bake for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the edges start to turn golden brown. Slice into bars and enjoy!

We hope this recipe helps make your holiday season extra sweet!
