How to Achieve Your New Year’s Resolutions

How to Achieve Your New Year’s Resolutions

by Proforma Construction Inc, January 9, 2017

New Year’s resolutions are people’s way of starting over and bettering their lives, unfortunately, many people give up just two months into the new year.

Many treat the new year as an opportunity to restart their lives. After all, it’s a new calendar year (using the Gregorian Calendar–the calendar that many people in the west use), and there’s a brand new year ahead of us filled with endless possibility. But as the year progresses and people realize that resolutions require actual effort, many give up.

In order to increase your chances of success this new year, take these tips into consideration. We will be looking at the most common goals and show you ways you can improve them.

  1. Losing Weight
By far the most popular resolution and unsurprisingly the resolution that is given up on the most. You can achieve this goal by having a set goal and breaking it up into semi-monthly (twice a month) smaller goals. Psychologically, achieving many smaller goals is more satisfying and allows you to stay on track of your overall bigger goal.
  2. Eating Healthier
A big proponent in losing weight is eating the right nutrients. Plan your meals a week ahead, and stick to a diet. The best way to stop eating junk food is to stop purchasing the junk food in the first place. Include more vegetables into your diet and try and limit your meat consumption to only once a week. It is good for your heart and reduces your carbon footprint.
